At the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) you will discover a comprehensive selection of facilities and amenities. Many passengers arrive for their flights well in advance, often leaving time to enjoy a spot of duty free shopping or lunch.

If you do have the time to enjoy a meal at Los Angeles Airport, then head to the central complex, where some nine passengers terminals are linked by a U-shaped road. Located approximately 70 feet / 21 metres high, the centrally located Encounter Restaurant boasts popular menus, contemporary design and great views, from its observation deck.

Information desks are situated on the Arrivals level of each terminal, close to the baggage reclaim areas. Passengers should come here to find out the latest times for flight arrivals and departures, details of delays, and emergency situations. There is also a 24-hour recorded telephone information line.

Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets


Los Angeles Airport has good shopping facilities located in the Terminals 2 to 8 and within the Tom Bradley International Terminal. These include a number of Hudson News outlets (around 15 in total), Jetway Booksellers, California Market, Kidsworks, the Hollywood Street, See's Candles, Via Voyage and Crews of California. There are also ten outlets of DFS Group LP selling duty free goods such as alcohol and cigarettes, based next to departures.

Bars, Cafés and Restaurants


If you are hungry at LAX, you won't have any trouble in finding somewhere to eat, although you may have trouble choosing between the various eateries. Always popular is the Backlot Deli, Baja Fresh Express, California Crush, Gladstone's 4 Fish Restaurant, Hamada Orient Express, Home Turf Sports Bar, Java Java, Marina Bar and Pinkberry Frozen Yoghurt. Also at the airport are a number of family favorites and familiar brands, including the likes of Burger King, California Pizza Kitchen, Cinnabon, Creative Croissants, McDonald's, Sam Adams, Starbucks, Sushi Boy and Wolfgang Puck Express.

Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities


ATM cash points are to be found within in all of the terminal buildings, in the Arrivals and Departures areas. There are also many public telephones and a number of bureau de change outlets situated in departures areas of the terminal buildings, as well as in the arrivals areas of the Tom Bradley Terminal and Terminals 2, 5 and 7.

Disabled Facilities


Disabled travelers at Los Angeles Airport can expect to find all of the usual facilities, such as designated parking spaces, elevators, ramps, telephones for those with hearing difficulties (Telecommunications Devices for the Deaf - TDD), shuttle buses with wheelchair lifts, and adapted toilets. Wheelchairs can also be arranged where required.
